DEI INTERNSHIP PROGRAM & JOB SHADOWS
FOR HIGH SCHOOL* & COLLEGE STUDENTS
Our curriculum focuses on helping youth gain a strong understanding of the competencies required to succeed in business and to also help youth further streamline their post-secondary interests through hands-on work experiences.
Over the course of 8 weeks, students experience a real work environment and work independently and collaboratively to implement projects including, but not limited to, logistics and planning for STEM YES!, fund development for DEI, and marketing to engage other students to participate in DEI programs.
Students participate in workshops facilitated by business professionals (i.e. “Using Social Media as a Method for Marketing”), Diversity & Inclusion Training, Salesforce Training, and attend networking events with business professionals.students participated in an Indianapolis Rotary networking event.

The program is based at our DEI office and all internships are paid. Students who are qualified to receive academic credit for a summer internship will receive credit upon program completion. Our Executive Director oversees this program. Our Program Director implements and evaluates this program, with support from a Program Assistant.that are necessary for securing stable employment in adulthood and are more likely to attend and graduate college and less likely to engage in risky behaviors including
